The Architecture of Hospitals: Community Hospitals and Health Centers Pt. 1


John Cole, an architect by profession, is currently an independent consultant client advisor acting both nationally and internationally on a series of major infrastructure projects, particularly health projects. Previously he was Chief Executive of Health Estates in Northern Ireland, where he was responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, project management, design and construction of a programme of major health projects with a value in excess of €4 billion. In 2013 he was appointed a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his services to the development of health infrastructure. In 2014 he was made an Honorary Professor of Architecture in Queen’s University Belfast. He is also currently Procurement Champion for the Royal Institute of British Architects.
