Building the Future of Health

June 3 13:30-14:00

The New York Health Offensive

For years cycling through New York was a risky business. You had to be some kind of fanatic, or a bike messenger, to plunge yourself into the currents of traffic. Within the last ten years, much has changed. The city council has implemented bike paths and created public parks on both sides of the east river as part of a general programme to create a friendlier and healthier environment. One could argue that some bike paths a merely an extra coat of green paint on the motorway, but one should consider the mentality change that city hall has gone through. It’s a revolution towards a healthier and friendlier city.
